Happy holidays and Merry Christmas! This is my favorite time of the year, a time for family and friends. It’s just a special, special holiday time.
As you finish 2016 and drive into 2017, use the spirit of the holidays—the spirit of love, the spirit of taking care of other people—to be a little bit more selfless.
We all have egos. We want to do great, we want to win, we want to be recognized. That drives us. But one of the things I learned in life is the more I felt like I was helping other people, the better I felt about myself—and the better you feel about yourself, the more you’re going to achieve. I believe giving and selflessness and taking care of other people, while that is giving from you, it gives back to you, too. It gives you a sense of worth, a sense of pride—and that helps you succeed in life.
You know, this is a special time of the year. You’re a special person. If we all went out, all the positive people, and shared our positive feelings as much as negative people share their feelings, what a better world it would be.
As you go out into the world today, my challenge to you is to find people to say something good to. Find people that are maybe struggling a little bit and help them. Make them feel better about themselves. Let’s share all of those kinds of feelings and commit to making this world we live in a better place.
