It’s approaching the end of October, and it’s Halloween time. Now, I’ll be honest with you. I’ve never been one of those people who put on a costume and dressed up and all that—I did it with my kids when they were little and when I was little, but I’m not a big Halloween, decorate-for-it person.

You know, Halloween, what it celebrates is our fears—all the things in the dark that we’re scared of. A lot of them are the scary ghost or the scary skeletons or witches and stuff. Well the reality is that all of us have those in our lives in a real way—the little irrational fears, the scary things that keep us from going for it, from trying new things.

I want you to do a real inventory of yourself and focus on the fears that hold you in place—the things that keep you from going for it. So use this Halloween to have fun with your kids, fun with your family—but also use it as a time to make a list of the irrational fears that you’ve got to fight, and you’ve got to manage and you’ve got to overcome to achieve success in life.

See you at the top, because the bottom sure is crowded!
